A project for an office and factory for the production of prostheses, contained on a typical flagpole-shaped site. The building is organized around a central 6m x 6m x 6m glass box floating in midair. All sightlines are focused towards the resulting interior courtyard, ensuring spatial continuity and reinforcing the sense of a shared space between the office and factory employees. Exterior load bearing walls tracing the site boundaries and extend to the maximum permissible height in order to provide flexible column free interiors and maximize floor area. The exterior structural walls of precast concrete are stacked and then post-stressed, resulting in a checkerboard arrangement between the structure and windows.
